Sermon Notes:
Traveling toward God.
“Back on the road, they set out for Jerusalem. Jesus had a head start on them, and they were following, puzzled and not just a little afraid. He took the Twelve and began again to go over what to expect next.” Mark 10:32 (Message)
On our journey we need to…
Start small
“And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” Matthew 10:42 (NLT)
Eliminate excuses
“…for when I am weak, then I am strong – the less I have, the more I depend on Him.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 (LB)
Travel together
“And He called his twelve disciples together and sent them out two by two….” Mark 6:7 (NLT)
Keep alert
“Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.” 1 Corinthians 12:4 (NLT)
Remember to rest and reflect
“The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told Him all they had done and what they had taught. Then Jesus said, ‘Let’s get away from the crowds for a while and rest.’ There were so many people coming and going that Jesus and His apostles didn’t even have time to eat. They left by boat for a quieter spot.” Mark 6:30-32 (NLT)
